Lip Stains that Last
I’ve wanted to try these Berrisom My Lip Tint Packs ever since I saw that addictive peeling video. This is a lip tint which goes on as a gel and dries to a rubbery layer on the lips. It’s then peeled off revealing the gorgeous tint underneath. Having been one of those kids who loved peeling glue off her hands I knew I’d find this appealing.
So when BB Cosmetics got in contact with me to review some of the products they had on offer I leapt at the chance to try these out.The following review is from a free press sample, and as always, all opinions are my own and honest.

I received the My Lip Tint Pack which contains six different shade. There are a total of 8 shades available from the brand in a variety of red/orange hues.
There’s plenty of product in each tube, and you only require a small amount for each stain. So I’m set for lip stains for a while now!
- Prep your lips first before applying this tint. For me this meant exfoliating the night before and using a lip balm for easier application and peeling.
- Use the tip and not an alternative applicator like a cotton bud. The tip is precise, as you can see below, and it’s easy to control the flow.
- This may be an obvious one, but the more you apply the deeper the colouring. This allows for ombre designs if you apply more in the center!
- Prep the lips with lip balm
- Follow your natural lip line and gently squeeze the tube
- Wait for it to dry. This is at least 15 minutes. If you jump the gun you won’t get a smooth peel and your skin may come off :/
- Peel slowly
- Apply lip balm on top and voila! Stand back and admire
I applied the gel and waited for a good 20 minutes before I attempted the peel. It was hard not moving my lips and I could feel them stick together halfway through the process. But it was worth it! Below is one of the peeling offcuts. There was no tearing at my lips, and it was an easy clean peel. Warning, grossly satisfying pic ahead!
So the peeled off tint is a lighter version of what the gel looks like when first on your lips. I really like the darker colours as I think they stand out more. But these are long lasting, so for work I’m more inclined to the peachy pinks.
Word of warning these are truly long lasting! Post-swatching I used my usual oil cleanser to rub them off and this is the result….
I had to bring out the make up remover, soak my arm and use a body towel to get this off. And even then I actually had the faint remnants of this swatch for 2 days. That’s how truly long lasting it is. But don’t freak out, you won’t have to do that to your lips every night! I found the swatch on my arm had more staying power than the ones on my lips.
Like you can see in my swatch removing attempts these do pass the long lasting test! But this is also a double edged sword. If you apply wrongly or don’t like the resulting colour you’re essentially stuck with it till the end of the day.
I did find that these were more moisturising than my usual lip stains from Tony Moly and Maybelline. There wasn’t the drying out sensation and there wasn’t as much feathering (that look when your flaws in the lips are highlighted). Both times I tried the stain out they lasted for 6+ hours without discernible fading. I think even the next day my lips were slightly pinker than normal.
Before and After
I tried first the darkest colour, Sexy Red, and then the palest one, Lovely Peach, so I could see what the range of effectiveness was.
I love that the colour is a deep but not in your face red. Was very pleased with this colour.
There was a strong peach scent with this stain. I was also a little worried I’d have orange lips.
Variety of Shades Available
Less Feathering than Other Lip Stains
Long-lasting – a con for those, like me, who don’t always get a perfect application
Long Wait Time
Altogether I did like the Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack. The reveal of the lips beneath the dried gel was exciting and I loved the colour beneath.
It was just as fun as I remember to peel them off my lips! And on the less frivolous and more beauty front they did provide the long lasting coverage that they promised. I loved that I could drink my tea without staining my cup pink, and the price point is decent.
On the negatives it does take at least 15 minutes to dry. And while you’re waiting for it to dry you can’t really eat, drink or talk. It’s also hard to cover mistakes or poor applications. As such I’m unlikely to use this on a daily basis as I don’t have the time.
I am however going to carry on use these on the weekends and experiment more by combining shades and perfecting ombre!
