Kaolin – This is the main clay element in the tub, sometimes referred to as China clay. It’s acne-fighting and helps to clear pores of oil, dirt and impurities.
Sodium Laureth Sulfate – This is a foaming agent found in many cleaning products. The reason I’ve highlighted it is because it can cause eye and skin irritation for those with very sensitive skin.
Jolse – $8.67 (£6)
This comes in a simple rounded tub which makes it good for stacking! There’s a mini spatula and inner lid included. Keep the inner lid, it helps stop the mask from bubbling in its tub. It’s a twist open tub which contains 100g of product.
Not the most attractive looking product, it’s grey and kinda slimy looking. For a clay mask it has a surprisingly jelly like texture. The product once on starts bubbling almost immediately, and by the end you’re a cloud of bubbles.
I would say that the scent is herbal clay. It’s not overwhelming and it quickly fades once on.
As quickly as you can you spread this on your face in a thin layer, about a couple of millimeters. You leave it on for 3-5 minutes to let the bubbles do their work. I would try and leave space around your eyes as once it bubbles up it starts spreading. The same goes for your nose, you don’t want your airways blocked up by bubbles. You then massage the bubbles into your skin and wash off with warm water.
You can hear the mask doing its work. It’s really fun hearing little fizzy bubbles on your skin, and it can be slightly ticklish so be warned. Highly effective at bringing all the dirt to the surface! It doesn’t remove blackheads, but it does bring them up to the surface making them easier to extract. It really did clean my skin, but I didn’t get a dry/tight feeling which can occur with some clay masks/cleansers. My skin felt smooth and soft.
