[Elizavecca] – CER-100 Collagen Coating Protein Ion Injection Review

I love my hair, and I don’t pamper it nearly as often as I probably should. Since moving to London and working in an AC’d office it’s been a lot unhappier than usual. Less shiny and more prone to breakages. I’ve been dying to get some Asian Beauty products for my hair, but the shipping costs are so high I just couldn’t justify it. So when Elizavecca got in touch with me asking if there were any products I wanted to review I was super excited to spot this CER-100 product for hair among the selections.

For reference my hair has never been coloured and is naturally straight.
It is quite thick and I wash it every other day.

Elizavecca is a Korean brand with some of the cutest package and fun products.
The most well known of these is probably the milky piggy carbonated bubble mask, which I’ve reviewed here

Packaging

I like the packaging of this product. It’s in a tube which makes it easy to apply and control the quantity of serum. And I love the cute cartoon girl on the front, with her luscious locks. The surprise when you open up the package and her hair “grows” did amuse me.
A couple of downsides though, first with this packaging it is hard to see how much product you have left. Two, as with all tube packaging it’s hard to stack in the cupboard. And as someone who lives in a city flat, storage stacking is always top of my mind.

Product & Scent

If you’ve ever been to a hair salon you’ll know what I mean by “salon product smell”. That’s exactly what this smells like! It’s not an unpleasant scent but you can definitely smell it in your hair after you’ve used it. The product itself is a light cream, which isn’t greasy at all.

Directions of Use

So it’s suggested that you use this product on slightly damp hair, so after my shower I lightly towel dried my hair and applied about a 10p size amount of  product on. You can also use this on dry hair, but I found it worked better on slightly damp. When I tried it on dry hair it applied nicely, but was harder to get an even coverage. It didn’t make my hair look greasy, but I sparingly used it. I could see this product creating a greasy look if applied over generously.

Before

I applied by rubbing the product in my hands and then gently running my hands through my hair. I tried to keep it an even application, and found this was the best approach. I have pretty long hair and went from the length below my chin to the ends. For those with shorter hair you could probably do your whole head, but I find its the ends of my hair which warrant the most attention!

After

 Review

I really enjoyed using this product and would definitely recommend it to others! I did see a more noticeable shine on the days when I applied the Elizavecca CER-100 ION Injection, which was great. And my hair did feel softer, I was spending the day stroking my hair which probably wasn’t good for it either. It’s also relatively affordable. At £8 a tube I could definitely get about 10-12 uses out of it minimum for my thick hair, which compared to some other Western brands is great!
I did not notice any thickening of my hair though, but as it’s already pretty thick it would have been difficult to tell. It was also not a long term effect, so the next day my hair was back to normal. Though perhaps over long term usage I’d have seen less split ends. I would also prefer a product with a more natural or softer scent. The hair salon scent is not my favourite and it does linger. However I did appreciate that my hair looked healthier after using this product!
Altogether I enjoyed using this product and I would repurchase this myself.

  1. Very thorough review, thank you! As I colour my hair blonde every other month, this might be the answer to solve its dryness… will definitely be trying!
