[Unboxing] & [Mask Mondays] – Sheet Happens Sheetmask Box

It’s time for another Mask Monday post, but perhaps I should call it Sheetmask Sunday as I’m a day early! Though this is a little different as it’s a whole collection of masks.
Anyone who knows me, or follows my instagram, will know that I love sheetmasks. I’m in the daily masking club and will probably continue to be so for some time! They’re great for being able to instantly re-hydrate the skin, or for ad-hoc treatments like soothing or combating acne. For more on why I love sheetmasks check out my “All About Sheetmasks” post.

So when Paula from Sheet Happens got in contact asking if I’d like to review their box there was no hesitation in my response! I love the cheeky name and subscriptions are something I always love to try, because it feels like a mini gift from me to me every month. What made it even more intriguing for me is that they’re a new startup company in Europe! I’m all for supporting more K-Beauty within the same continent as me.

About Sheet Happens

Sheet Happens is a new online sheetmask store, based in Stockholm Sweden. It’s run by a couple, and was instigated by Paula who was puzzled as to why there weren’t many places for European AB Fans to get their products from more locally. (Preach sister, would love some more UK places too!). She used to buy things for her family and friends, which evolved into Sheet Happens! You can follow their Instagram here: Sheethappens and visit their website to buy masks here: https://sheethappens.se/. Use code MAPLETREEBLOG for 15% of all items, except the subscription box.

So onto the box!

Sheet Happens Subscription Box Review

Look, it’s a pug in a tiny sheetmask! First impressions are a big deal, and this certainly kicked things off on the right foot. I loved this sheetmasking pug so much quite a few of my friends got a random snap of it.
All the masks were nicely packed within the box as well.

The Sheetmasks

Petitfee Gold and Snail Hydrogel

Petitfee Gold and Snail Hydrogel

Great to see a hydrogel within the box! Hydrogels are slightly fancier sheetmasks, their base is a gel rather than the cotton style mask of the usual sheetmasks. I’ve never tried anything from this brand before, though I know their eye hydrogels are popular, so I was excited to see this in the box. Though I don’t believe gold really does anything through topical application, I do love snail. Snail is hydrating, soothing and healing. It’s one of the most popular K-Beauty ingredients, though little known in the West.

Secret Key Starting Treatment Essential

Secret Key is a brand which is affordable and readily available at most online stores. I’ve not tried any of their masks before, though I do like their toners, so this is a new one for me! The key ingredient here is fermented yeast, which is high in vitamins B, C and K. So great for those looking for an anti-aging mask.

Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask Pack

Now this is a familiar sheetmask to me, and one of the classics. It’s got two of my favourite ingredients in, bee venom and snail, and I find does help reduce the appearance of acne/redness. I pretty much wore this straightaway and it reminded me why I loved these masks. Now I need to buy some more for my collection!

Comfortable fit for me, and good essence concentration

Nature Republic Real Nature Mask Sheet Avocado

I like the Nature Republic sheetmasks as I find them affordable and effective. The golden duo for anyone who is a daily masker like me. This is in the avocado variety, which is hydrating and is ideal for those with dry skin. Yet to try this one, so interested to see if it’ll help my dry winter skin.

Dr Jart+ Dermask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution

This is another new brand for me, though I have heard about it before. This is a water hydration mask, another great one for those with dry skin. It’s a cellulose mask, which are usually thinner and have a good close fit to the skin.

Holika Holika Moisturising Ampoule – Ceramide + Honey

Holika Holika is pretty familiar to me, and I like their sheetmasks, though this is the first of the moisturising ampoule line that I’ve seen. Ceramides are great for hydration, and honey is perfect for soothing and healing the skin. It’s a great combination to have in one mask, and I hope it lives up to my expectations!

Welcos Jeju Natural Volcanic

Now this is a mask that I’ve seen all over instagram so I was keen to give it a try. Being the oily person I am, this sounded perfect. But I was rather disappointed by it. The ingredients list was very basic, and the star ingredients didn’t turn up till near the end of the list. It also stung a little when I first put it on, so I must be sensitive to something in the list. Well at least the fit was okay!

Berrisom Animal Mask Raccoon Placenta + Adenosine

Berrisom were actually one of the first brands of sheetmasks I ever tried, and I was mostly lured in by the fun animal prints! I made my flatmate try this one out when I originally bought it, as I was a bit icked out by the thought of placenta. She found the sheetmask decent, and we both enjoyed the fun aspect of having a character print. I’m going to give this one a shot myself now!

Mediheal Line Friends E.G.T Timetox Ampoule

Mediheal collaborated with Line last year and brought out a set of fun sheetmasks with the Line characters on! This one has Bear on it, and is a mask which promises to reduce fine lines and provide a boosting effect. Bold words from a sheetmask, but the cuteness of the packaging means I’ll forgive it. I’m giving this mask to my mum, she likes to raid my sheetmask stash and I’m still at the age where acne more than fine lines concern me.

TonyMoly I’m Real Red Wine Sheetmask

The TonyMoly I’m Real line are one of my favourites to buy in the variety pack and sheetmask with friends! I love the bold packaging and colours. It’s a decent fit for my faceshape, is affordable and hydrates well. I don’t really think it can back up it’s claim for tightening pores. But it does hydrate my skin and make it look brighter. This one I used post a lush bath. And I would highly recommend doing so!

Final Thoughts

What I love about this curation of sheetmasks is that there are 10 different brands! Which means if one sheetmask doesn’t fit you, there’s going to be 9 others to try out. It’s also great for those who want to try a variety, like me. It’s got one hydrogel and one character mask within the set, personally I’d have liked to see either another hydrogel or “quirky” mask within. Like a multi-step mask or one for another part of the body.
I count two masks which are good for “troubled skin”, three for “anti-aging” and the rest are hydration power houses. I actually think this is a good mix for a subscription box, as it’ll suit a wider range of people. And given it’s winter in this part of the world hydration is definitely needed!

It works out at approximately 3 Euros a sheetmask, which is inline with most European stores. They can be bought individually more cheaply on Asian online stores.
But what you’re getting with a subscription box is the curation, info card and surprise!

What do you think of this box? What sheetmask would you like me to review next!

  1. Looks like a fun box! I’d like to see a review for any anti-aging or exfoliating masks.

  2. This is a great box! Love it. I always love to use masks. Especially sheet masks.
