I am a Pokemon lover, I’ve got 5 pokemon plushies on my bed and all the games. So when TonyMoly came out with a collaboration I was all over it, and my wallet wept.
The mini pikachu cushion blusher caught my eye immediately. My cushion obsession has just gotten into it’s stride, but this is the only blusher I have in my collection. So lets see if it lived up to the hype!
Pokemon Pikachu Mini Cushion Blusher (Pink Fantasy)
Soft melting creamy texture gives both cheeks vivid color stain.
One touch gives vivid color express for natural vital cheeks.
This is a very cute compact cushion case. It has Pikachu’s smiling face on it, fits into my palm and the cushion puff is a pokeball! The puff is very small, I can only fit a couple of fingers into it, though control of the puff was still fine. It’s a sturdy plastic case, which I have accidentally dropped on my carpeted floor and it survived.
Product & Scent
First the scent is one that I adore. It smells like the gummie sweets I used to get as a kid, so I get a wave of nostalgia when I use the blusher. It’s not one that lingers however, and soon dissipates. The product itself is creamy and sheer. The creamy texture is similar to bb creams, and it blends out with a few pats of the cushion. The pigementation is sheer, and I do mean sheer. You really have to press down on the puff to get a good amount of product to show up on your cheeks. I’m NC15 mac shade and you can just about make out the blush. Which is great for me as it gives me a natural glow, without being overpowering. But if you’re a darker skintone I think it’s going to be harder to see.
There are other shades in the collection, but it’s limited to three. See below
I am not super adept at using make up, still a novice in training, but I did love how easy it was to use this cushion blusher. The creaminess of it meant I was able to lightly puff it out if I over-applied product, and achieved a nice natural glow. It lasted for about 4-5 hours of wear, before needing a top up. What makes cushions great though is that they are easy to carry around and top up make-up with. I also adore the packaging. What Poke-fan wouldn’t? Onto the cons. There really wasn’t much pigmentation with this cushion, so on days where I needed that extra boost of colour I put this aside for other products. It’s also only got a limited range of shades, which makes it hard to adapt to different looks.
Overall though I am enjoying using this cushion blusher, and I feel totally justified in buying it! It’s more than just a cute Pokemon novelty.
