Manyo Factory is a new brand to me, which I’ve seen growing in popularity with other AB fans that I follow. They have a natural vibe to them and their marketing is focused around the natural ingredients in their products. Their packaging style is more minimalist than roadshop brands such as TonyMoly and Etude House.
Bloomskincare UK, a new UK based beauty store, asked if there was anything I’d like to try from their collection. And my eye immediately went to the Active Refresh Herb Pack. It contains Centella Asiatica and Tea Tree, both great ingredients for redness/blemishes which I suffer.
As always the opinions in this review are my own, and this is what I found with my skin. YMMV and you may have different results.

Manyo Factory Active Refresh Herb Pack Review
Purified water, Corn Starch, Kaolin, Centella Asiatica Extract, Propolis Extract, Camellia Extract, Cetearyl-Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Artemisia Vulgaris (Mugwort) Extract, Artemisia Absinthium (Wormwood) Extract, Pine Leaf Powder, Motherwort Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Tea Tree Extract, Aloe Vera Leaf Extract, Green Tea Extract, Broccoli Extract, Methyl Sulfonylmethane, Bentonite, Arbutin, Houttuynia Extract, Licorice Extract, Dandelion Leaf Extract, Wintergreen leaf extract, Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract, Olive Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Molten Salt, Flour, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Pasqueflower Fxtract, Damask Rose Flower Extract, Peppermint Oil, Orange Oil, Eucalyptus Leaf Oil
As you can see in the above, there’s a lot of natural fruit extracts and essential oils in this little bottle.
I’ve highlighted a few standouts to me:
Kaolin and Bentonite – These are the main clay ingredients in the pack. Kaolin is the more well known for mattifying skin by absorbing excess oil, while bentonite is known for helping to “purify” skin by pulling out toxins. Although I wasn’t able to find substantial research to back this last claim, both are common clay ingredients for masking.
Tea Tree and Green Tea Extract – Both great ingredients for helping with inflammation and soothing the skin. Green tea is more gentle than tea tree, but I find tea tree more effective at helping reduce the appearance of acne. Read my Spotlight series on this ingredient for more on why I love them.
Centella Asiatica – Good for helping to heal blemishes and overall redness. An ingredient that I’m looking for more often in my products now.
CosDNA: Analysis Here
From the CosDNA analysis there are very few acne triggers or irritants in this wash off pack. I’ve found it quite gentle to use as well, no tingling or redness.
Looks like a medicinal bottle to me, the ones you get pills in. Plastic, screw top and sturdy. Doesn’t come with a spatula, although I wish it did. Less for the usual hygiene reasons, and more because it’s a narrow opening. I can imagine when there’s less clay in the bottle I’ll have a difficult time scooping it out with my chubby fingers.
Product & Scent
Herbal scent to this, but not as strong as I expected given the ingredient list and green colour. Compared to my Mask of Magnaminty from Lush it’s mild, but stronger than the Innisfree Clay Mask. It’s a smooth green clay paste, with minimal other “bits” inside. It takes about 5 mins to solidify on my face, so washing hands straight after applying is best.
Directions of Use
I use this after cleansing and before a hydrating toner. My favourite way of claymasking is to do so before a shower, so I can wash it off more cleanly. I wear this mask for 15 minutes at a time before washing off. I do this twice a week at most.
Evenly apply a thin layer, you don’t need too much of this mask, and wait the 15 minutes.
I like this mask. For reference I’ve got combo acne-prone skin, so I’m always on the look out for products which help with oil and acne. This is one of those products. My skin was definitely less oily after using this mask, and stayed less oily for the rest of the day. Although oil returned the next day. I also found that my skin was less red and my acne less inflamed than it can be at it’s worse. I don’t think my pores had shrunk in appearance. And I don’t think this mask helped to prevent further acne from appearing. But it was good at reducing the appearance of the spots which were there. It has very gentle exfoliation from the minimal scrubby bits in the mask itself. Minimal to the point I barely noticed it to be perfectly honest. Overall I’m pleased with this mask. It performed well, was easy to apply and wash off as well as helping to reduce the appearance of acne.It doesn’t do enough to reduce the appearance of pores or prevent further breakouts for it to be a HG for me though.
