[Make P:rem] – In Shower Face Mask Pack

I recently won a giveaway on Instagram for a coupon card to an online store. Having browsed their store I chose the makep:rem wonderful me in shower face pack as one of the products to buy. I’ve been looking to try out more masks in my routine, and this one sounded intriguing. I’ve not tried a product specifically marketed to be used in the shower before!
This was chosen by my Instagram followers as the next product they wanted to see reviewed on the blog! And this is me delivering after testing it out properly.

For reference my skin is currently acne-prone and combination.

Makep:rem Wonderful Me In Shower Face Pack Review

Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Betaine, Algae Extract, Eclipta Prostrata Leaf Extract, Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Rubus Chamaemorus Seed Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Ficus Cariga (Fig) Fruit Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Morus Alba Root Extract, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Amaranthus Caudatus Seed Extract, Ascophyllum Nodosum Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Argania Spinosa Kernol Oil, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, Dipropylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Potassium Hydroxide, Dipotassium Glycryrhizate, Maltodextrin, Ethylhexylglyerin, Caramel, Hydrolyzed Avacado Protein, Fructooligossacharides, Propylene Glycol, Lecithin, Disodium EDTA, Beta-Glucan, Butylene Glycol, Caffeine, Dimethicone, Squalane, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Hydrolyze Hyaluronic Acid, Acacia Senefal Gum, Isononyl Isononoate, Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate, Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrosperum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Stearic Acid, Polyglyceryl-2 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Sodium Dilauramidoglutamide Lysine, Thermus Thermophillus Ferment, Lysolecithin, Phytosterols, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Inulin Lauryl Carbamate, Ceramide NP, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Citric Acid, Fragrance, Potassium Sorbate

This is a super long list of ingredients. It’s hard to pick out which ones are in a high enough concentration to have an effect to be honest. In marketing materials the triple berry and hyaluronic acid elements are highlighted.
Highlights for me include:
Blackberry, Fig, Raspberry, Blueberry and Strawberry extract – Fruits high in anti-oxidants, also good for brightening.
Hyaluronic Acid – Two forms of hyaluronic acid which is great for hydration.
Shea Butter – Softening and hydrating.

This is a nice simple dusty baby pink colour, in sturdy plastic. It’s a pump bottle which makes it easy to get to the product without fiddling around with spatulas. What I love, was an option on the side to add the date when you opened it! Really useful and very important.

Product & Scent

One pump

This is a thick gel, coloured like honey though it doesn’t smell like honey. It’s got a very light scent, even to my sensitive nose. I would describe it as lightly floral, with undertones of sweetness. There’s 180ml of product, so I imagine it’ll last around 6 months with 2-3 times a week of use.

Lightly spread

Rubbed in

Directions of Use

First I cleanse my face to ensure it’s clean. I then pump this twice and gently massage lightly onto my face before I shower. I do this 10 minutes before I’m going to shower, to give it more time on my skin as I don’t take very long showers. While in the shower I try to avoid getting my face wet, and at the end I massage it off.

I find that after I’ve showered using this my face is less flushed, especially after a hot shower. It’s also more hydrated, though not by a game-changing amount. My skin is currently in it’s combination season though, so I’m thinking dry-skinned and dehydrated folk will see more of a difference in using this product.
This does not perfectly stay on during the shower, it has on occasion run into my ears. Leading to tears and temporary blindness. However it’s also not sliding down my face either, so it does a decent job in my opinion.
I was looking to add extra hydration into my routine, without spending too much extra time and this is the perfect product for that! As someone who has little time in the evening, this was a great find. The only extra time is in applying it to my face, which takes 20-30 seconds. For those who want the extra boost of hydration without the fuss of applying multiple layers of essences or wearing sheetmasks, I would recommend this mask. And for those who like to take steaming hot baths/showers, this is great in ensuring you don’t look like a tomato after!
